What exactly are the benefits of watermarking your work, especially with all the talented artists out there that know how to swing a cloning brush?
There are two basic types of digital watermarks, visible and invisible. The visible watermark usually consists of an image or company name laid over the main image...

Unisys is the company that holds the patent on LZW which is the algorithm used to create the GIF image format. As you are all aware GIF is one of the most common image formats on the Internet today. At first Unisys was content to monitor the larger image manipulation companies to assure that their licensing fees were paid. Now they are going after the Web site Owner/Developer
