i have been reading quite a number of articles regarding the new desktop search tools. i think we tend to see these new tools and, at first glance, think they are great, which they are. What we seldom realize is how programs or tools we install will impact our privacy.

The opinion poll on Anti-Spyware Programs and which one(s) people use was posted for a specific reason. That is to show exactly how unprotected people actually are. Recently, a friend sent me a URL to a test that had been done on Anti-Spyware and their efficiency, or lack thereof. i was both amazed and frightened by what i saw, and felt it was very important for people out there to realize just how big the threat of spyware is and how unprotected we are with whatever program(s) we use.

If you have been involved with optimizing or promoting your website, you would have often searched your prominent keywords in search engines like Google to check where your site ranks. If you are having to deal with more than 20 to 40 keyword phrases checking your site ranking in the first 30 results, across 10 major search engines can be a daunting task.

Open source software is changing the way the Internet works. It is the technology that has been the catalyst for the growth of the Internet the last several years. No longer are there concerns about the integrity of Open Source software, in fact in many cases the software that is developed by the Open Source Community is much more stable and secure then those projects developed in a closed environment. One only has to look at the Microsoft VS Linux debates to see the positive effects that the Open Source Community can have on a project. We thought it was time to take a look at what the Open Source Community is actually doing and try and dispel the rumor that would say free software is poor quality software.
