More prose than poetry but oh well *s*
i have dreamt again
If we eat at the same table of life then why is it we taste things so differently. Do you remember the first meal we shared. Was it memorable enough to make your tongue crave the taste again the moment your mind begins to flash back. Was it so long ago that the memory needs to be forced. Or perhaps it left no imprint at all.
Tear yet another page off the calender we call life. These pages keep flying away, as if we had a choice, while all i "can do" is missed and all i "do do" is wonder why after the fact. Why do i pick now, at this time, out of all my life to begin obssessing over things that should have concerned me years ago.
Had i been at this place then, things never would have happened. It had to have been then, just like it was, just like it is the way it is now. It had to be the way it was and it has to be the way it is. It is all about who we were, who we have become, and what has changed along the way. We can look forward and we can look back, but it makes no difference in what is now.
A dream. Something that takes mere seconds. It could have been real, if i had only tried a bit harder. Held on a bit tighter. i let go. i woke up. Reality was there once again to meet me and made me wish i had held on just a bit longer.
