What exactly are the benefits of watermarking your work, especially with all the talented artists out there that know how to swing a cloning brush?

Something that identifies ownership in some way, shape, or form. Some choose to leave this "watermark" at full opacity and some choose to fade it somewhat, which gives you a chance to better view the entire image. It rarely covers the entire image.
An invisible watermark is an image that is embedded into the main image, invisible to the naked eye but can be viewed with the appropriate software. They live well beyond the cropping, file format change, and the cloning. Some search engines are even designed to search for watermarked images.
So, to the question.. To Watermark or not to Watermark? i would say definitely watermark your work. Protect what you have done but display it proudly. |
